According to the BLS or the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are two MT certifications available. These two include the CMT or the Certified Medical Transcriptionist and the RMT or the Registered Medical Transcriptionist. A certified medical transcription training will ensure that you will succeed in this career field you have chosen. The certifications show knowledge of procedures, terminology and human anatomy. MT Training and certification will make you more attractive for MT jobs since there is more to this job than just typing dictations. Moreover, the training could help you develop the skill you will need to become successful in this job which includes but not limited to basic knowledge of writing skills, medical terms, transcription tools and editorial skills. Applicants who have completed the training know how to effectively and correctly write, edit and clarify recorded dictations. The training helps them recognize basic medical procedures and terms that are useful in the job.
